Disabled Access (DDA)

spiral_staircase_ddaThe Disability Discrimination Act 1995 makes it unlawful to discriminate against disabled persons in employment or the supply of goods and services or in the selling, letting or management of properties.

Almost all commercial occupiers have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure that disabled people are not discriminated against, either in the way that a service is provided or employment is offered.

The first step is to undertake an Access Audit by a trained and experienced Access Consultant to identify the barriers, physical and otherwise, limiting access by a disabled person.

ProMission's qualified Access Consultant can undertake this with the advantage of Building Surveying expertise to provide an effective audit to identify problems and propose cost effective solutions

These adjustments may be physical alterations to the premises, changes to management policies or the provision of auxiliary aids.
